Privacy Policy
Effective: August 7, 2026
1. What We Collect
Account information you provide (name, username, email, and for creators, payout details); information you give us before creating an account, such as an email address you submit to join our early-access or launch list, or the details in a founding-program application (program or school name, contact name, email, and information about your footage); content you upload (video clips, photos, captions, and their metadata such as player names, sports, and locations); for organization, team, or school accounts, the member information an account owner adds to seat its staff; transaction records for purchases and payouts; and basic technical data needed to operate the Service (log data, device/browser type, and session cookies). We also collect: contact and role details you submit when requesting to claim a school or college storefront; roster information a college provides (such as athlete name, position, jersey number, height, weight, hometown, home state, high school, graduation year, and recruiting ranking); verification information used to confirm verified-athlete status; storage-usage metrics for your plan; and NIL / Clip Claim earnings and payout records. Where a feature requires it we also collect: your date of birth (recorded once to apply age-appropriate protections for social publishing, and correctable afterward only through support so a minor's record cannot be self-altered); a team or school account's SportsClippers-network membership status and the timestamped upload-authorization it carries; each content item's recorded upload origin (self-uploaded vs. SportsClippers-staff-uploaded), which determines its revenue split; supporter-membership subscription records (which creator you support and the subscription's status); and per-shoot production-log details a creator chooses to enter (camera settings, gear, LUT, weather, and access notes), which are displayed publicly only with a public vault.
2. What We Don't Collect
We do not sell personal information. We do not store full payment card numbers — payments are handled by our payment processors. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
3. How We Use Information
To operate the marketplace (hosting clips, processing orders, paying creators); to organize and tag uploaded media (including with automated tools) so it is searchable; to send transactional messages such as receipts and order updates, plus optional notifications you control in your dashboard; to publish content to social platforms you explicitly connect; and to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
4. Connected Social Platforms
If you connect a social account (such as Facebook, X, or TikTok), we store the access credentials that platform issues so we can publish on your behalf when you ask us to. We publish only content you select, never automatically. You can disconnect a platform at any time, and you can also revoke our access from the platform's own settings. Data received from each platform is used only to provide the publishing feature and is never sold or used for advertising.
5. Content Involving Minors
Sports clips often feature youth athletes. Content must be uploaded by adults with authority over it (parents, guardians, schools, or team staff), and uploaders are responsible for having appropriate permissions. We respond promptly to removal requests from parents or guardians at the contact below. The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
6. Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to run the Service (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, automated content-tagging, and social platforms you connect), with media organizations only to the extent of fulfilling licenses you sell them, and where required by law.
7. Retention & Security
We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and as required for legal and tax purposes. Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing. Access credentials for connected platforms are stored server-side and never exposed to other users. To prevent automated abuse, sign-up and sign-in are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-verification challenge; Cloudflare processes limited technical signals (such as browser and network characteristics) to issue a pass/fail verification, and this is not used for advertising or tracking.
8. Your Choices
You can update profile information in your dashboard, control notification preferences, ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, and request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
9. Signing In With a Social Account
You can create or access your account through a third-party identity provider (such as Google, Facebook, or X). When you do, we receive a limited profile from that provider — typically your name and email address — only to create or sign you into your SportsClippers account. Signing in does not post anything to those accounts; that is a separate, optional publishing connection described above. If a provider does not share an email, we ask you for one to finish your account.
10. Marketing Communications
With your consent — such as the "I agree to receive updates" option at signup — we may email you about new clips, sales, and product news. If you join our early-access or launch list (for example, the "Notify me" form on our coming-soon page), we send a confirmation email to verify your address and add you only after you confirm (double opt-in). If you provide a phone number and separately opt in, we may send SMS alerts (for example, when new clips matching your interests appear). You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, your dashboard preferences, or by replying STOP to a text. Transactional messages (receipts, order and security notices) are sent regardless, as they are needed to provide the Service.
11. Cookies & Referral Tracking
We use a small set of cookies and similar browser storage: an essential cookie to keep you signed in; a referral cookie that records when you arrive through a creator's share link, so a resulting purchase can be credited to that creator (kept for about 30 days); a similar promotion cookie that credits a purchase to a creator's paid clip promotion you clicked; and local browser storage for things like remembering that you dismissed the signup prompt. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
12. NIL, Verification & Athlete Earnings
For verified athletes — including high-school athletes whose parent or guardian has consented at signup — we process identity and verification information, the clips and photos the athlete claims, the athlete's state (used to determine NIL eligibility), and Clip Claim earnings and payout records. Parent/guardian consent for minors is captured at signup and retained as a compliance record. This information is used to operate the NIL revenue-share program (Clip Claim) and is shared only with the providers needed to run it and as required by law.
13. College Roster Data
College and program accounts may upload roster data — such as athlete name, position, jersey number, height, weight, hometown, home state, high school, graduation year, and recruiting ranking — to label their content and enable NIL earnings. We use this data to attribute uploads to athletes and to operate Clip Claim. The program controls its roster and can edit or remove entries; removal of an athlete does not by itself delete already-published content.
14. Bookings & Creator Accountability Records
To operate creator bookings we process booking records (the package purchased, price, the client and creator involved, and each accept/deny/expire decision with its timestamp), payment-authorization references from our payment processor (we never see or store card numbers), and creator accountability records — paid-booking denial history and its resulting booking blocks or bans, no-show reports with the reporting account's description, the creator's 72-hour response, the adjudication outcome, and any resulting strikes, suspensions, or bans. Clients see only the outcome of their own booking (accepted, denied, or expired) and any rematch suggestions; a creator's accountability history is not public. When a booking is denied or expires we may use the requested market and creators' self-entered availability and cities to suggest alternative creators to the client. These records are retained while the account is active and as needed to enforce our booking policies, resolve payment disputes, and meet legal obligations.
14A. Community Tagging Data
When you suggest an athlete tag on content, we store the suggestion, the content it applies to, your username and account role at the time, and whether the content owner approved, auto-approved or rejected it. We use this to apply verified tags, to let content owners review and control tagging on their own content, to compute tagger accuracy (which may affect standing, points or accreditation eligibility), and to prevent abuse — including honouring per-creator blocks. Verified tag events may be shared with media and recruiting-platform accounts as confidence-scored appearance data describing where an athlete verifiably appears; that data is not a ranking or evaluation. Athletes and guardians may contact us to dispute or request removal of a tag involving them.
14B. Purchases, Downloads & Processing Credits
We keep a record of every purchase you make so your files stay available: the item purchased, its format, price, the selling creator, and the purchase date power your "My Downloads" library, which lets you re-download purchased files at any time. Marketplace downloads are final and non-refundable, so this permanent record is how continued access is provided. For creators, we record processing-credit purchases (including the amount paid per credit), the balance remaining, and each redemption against a LUT — this ledger is what pays LUT owners their share and lets us reconcile payouts. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor; we never store full card numbers.
14C. Program Donations — Donor & Program Financial Data
For Program Donations we process: the donor's name and email (used for the receipt and, if the donor is signed in, linked to their account); the gift amount, cadence (one-time or monthly), and payment reference from our payment processor; whether the gift was anonymous; the employer name a donor optionally provides to look up matching-gift instructions; and, for the receiving program, its EIN, legal organization name, and 501(c)(3) verification status, which are stamped onto each receipt at the time of the gift for IRS compliance and retained as a tax record. Unless a donor marks a gift anonymous, a program that enables its donor wall may publicly display that donor's name and gift amount or recognition tier; we never display a donor's email address. A program's owner and SportsClippers admins can view "Donor Intelligence" — engagement scoring and behavior segments (such as recurring, lapsing, or match-eligible) computed from a program's own donation history — to help that program decide who to thank, upgrade, or re-engage; this view is limited to the program's own donors, is never shared with other programs, and is never used for advertising.
14D. Program Donations — Bank Account & Tax ID Verification
A program enabling donations verifies its bank account, EIN, and organization identity directly with our payment processor through its own hosted onboarding flow. SportsClippers never receives, transmits, or stores that bank account or EIN information — we store only the resulting connected-account reference and a yes/no readiness status (whether the account can currently accept charges and receive payouts).
14E. TrainerMatch — Trainer & Athlete Matching Data
To power TrainerMatch we process the training-related information you provide — such as position, training goals, availability, markets served, and specialties — to compute a match, and we record each connection request and its accept/decline outcome so both dashboards agree on status. A connection request and any resulting contact information are visible only to the two matched accounts, never published publicly.
14F. Supporter Memberships
When you support a creator with a monthly Supporter Membership, we process the subscription's status and billing references from our payment processor (we never store card numbers) and record which creator you support so we can grant access to their supporters-only content and pay the creator their share. The supported creator can see aggregate supporter counts and earnings; supporter identity is handled like any other purchase record and is not published publicly.
14G. Media Newsroom & Seat Data
For media-organization accounts we process the organization's intake profile (coverage scope, staffing, readership band, budget band, and contacts) strictly internally — it powers writer desks, vault matching, and licensing and is never shown publicly. Seated writers' details (name, email, handles, hometown, and assigned beats) are provided by the account owner to provision read-side seats; a writer's hometown may power event-based "writers near" suggestions. Newsroom activity (tracked recruits, watched schools, licensing history) belongs to the organization's workspace and is visible to its seats per their roles, not to other customers.
14H. Accreditation & Background-Check Data
Where you pursue an accreditation level that requires a background check, the check is performed by a third-party consumer-reporting provider under its own disclosure and authorization flow. SportsClippers receives and stores the resulting outcome status and your credential level and validity dates — not the underlying report contents, which remain with the provider subject to its policies and applicable law (including your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act). We display only your credential level, never any report detail, and we use lapse status solely to pause dependent visibility and booking eligibility.
14I. Cosigns, Signals & AI Score Data
To operate the endorsement system we process the endorser's identity, credentials, assigned weight, the athletes they cosign, the ceiling tags and notes they attach, creators' CreatorCast Signals and their tracked outcomes (which build a signal issuer's accuracy record), and the resulting AI Score. Cosigns and signals are subjective opinions displayed with the athlete profile they concern; an athlete or a minor athlete's parent/guardian may dispute one or request its review through the contact below. Endorser weighting and score computation are internal to SportsClippers and are not sold.
15. Account Deletion & Recovery
When you delete your account, we deactivate it and hide your public presence immediately, then retain your data for a 30-day recovery window during which you can restore the account. After the window closes, your personal data is permanently scrubbed. Deletions we initiate for policy violations may scrub data immediately. Some records (such as transaction, tax, and revenue-share ledger records) are retained as described in Retention & Security and as required by law.
16. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced on the Service with a new effective date.
