Terms of Service
Effective: August 8, 2026
1. Who We Are
SportsClippers ("we," "us," the "Service") is an online marketplace where creators upload, license, and sell sports video clips and related media services, and where buyers — including families, schools, and credentialed media organizations — browse, purchase, and license that content. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are available for general users, creators, teams, and media organizations; some account types carry additional terms (for example, the Media Organization Access Agreement). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Content Ownership, Licensing & Revenue Share
Content on the Service falls into two categories. First, content you upload yourself: when a creator, school, team, organization, booster club, or event uploads content to its own profile, that uploader retains ownership and grants SportsClippers a license to host, display, distribute, and monetize it through the Service, and earns the standard, higher creator revenue share shown in the dashboard. The higher revenue share applies only to content you own and post yourself. By uploading, you represent and warrant that you own the content or hold all rights, permissions, and authorizations necessary to upload, distribute, license, and monetize it — including any rights relating to the individuals who appear in it — and you assume full responsibility for it. Second, content produced by SportsClippers: when SportsClippers films an event, team, school, or organization — including filming provided under a SportsClippers program membership — SportsClippers owns the resulting footage, clips, and photos, and licenses them to the participating entity for use during the term of its membership. Participating entities may earn a revenue share on sales of that content, as described in the applicable program or dashboard terms (standard share currently 10%); a program's share may be set as a fixed, tiered, capped, time-limited, or revocable commission, and conveys no ownership of SportsClippers-produced content. SportsClippers monetizes uploaded content in the same manner that platforms such as YouTube monetize creator channels: responsibility for content rights and clearances rests with the uploader, not the platform, and you agree to abide by the same content and monetization standards expected of monetized creators on those platforms. We do not require a separate per-clip release; your acceptance of these Terms is your representation that you hold the necessary rights. Purchases grant buyers the license tier described at checkout (personal, editorial, or commercial); no other rights transfer. Watermarked previews may not be reused or republished.
3A. Team & School Accounts — Origin-Aware Revenue Splits & Network Membership
Revenue on content sold from a team, school, or organization account depends on who produced it. Content the account uploads itself — shot by its own staff or its own media contractors — earns the account seventy-five percent (75%) of each sale, with payment-processing costs borne from the account's share; SportsClippers retains twenty-five percent (25%). Content SportsClippers' staff produces at a SportsClippers-performed shoot and uploads into the account earns the account a ten percent (10%) revenue share, with SportsClippers retaining ninety percent (90%) and absorbing payment-processing costs on those sales. Joining the SportsClippers network — the program under which SportsClippers provides videographer services to a team or school — constitutes the account's ongoing authorization for SportsClippers staff to upload content from SportsClippers-performed shoots for that account into its storefront; this authorization is recorded with a timestamp, applies only while network membership is active, and ends when network membership is removed. Storage for content uploaded into an account counts against that account's storage plan. The split applicable to each item is determined by its recorded upload origin and is reflected consistently in the account's dashboard, ledger, and payouts.
4. Purchases, Payments & Payouts
Prices are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store card numbers. Sales are final except where a clip is materially defective or misdescribed. Revenue share depends on the content source — content you upload yourself earns the standard share shown in the dashboard, while content filmed and owned by SportsClippers earns the participating school, team, organization, or event host the revenue share described in the applicable program terms (standard share currently 10%) — and earnings are paid out per our payout schedule and minimums.
5. Social Publishing
The Service can publish content you choose to connected third-party platforms (such as Facebook, X, and TikTok) on your behalf. You authorize each connection yourself, those platforms' own terms apply to anything published there, and you may disconnect a platform at any time. You are responsible for the content you publish.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to upload only content you own or are authorized to upload and monetize; not to upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor in any way; not to scrape, resell, or redistribute Service content outside your license; and not to interfere with or attempt to breach the Service's security. For footage featuring minors you agree to follow the same content guidelines that monetized creator platforms (such as YouTube) apply — such footage must depict minors only in appropriate, non-exploitative contexts, such as athletic competition. You further agree not to initiate or solicit direct contact with any athlete under 18; the sole exception is a supervised student-athlete pregame or postgame interview expressly agreed in the applicable work order terms, conducted under the host school's or club's supervision and any required parent/guardian consent. You are solely responsible for ensuring your uploads comply with these standards and all applicable laws.
7. Intellectual Property — Platform Ownership
The Service — including its software, source code, algorithms, data models, pricing systems, revenue-split architecture, commission and escrow mechanisms, athlete-tagging and recruiting pipeline, mobile marketplace infrastructure, live-streaming systems, booking workflows, UI designs, and all other technology developed by or for SportsClippers — is the exclusive intellectual property of SportsClippers and its founder. This ownership is not affected by any contribution, suggestion, feedback, or feature request made by any user, contractor, partner, or third party. Uploading content to the Service or purchasing a booking does not grant any user, creator, school, team, or organization any ownership of, or license to, the platform's software or operational systems. Content you upload remains the property of its uploader, as described in Section 3 — this section governs platform technology only. We may embed visible watermarks and invisible forensic markers in content to deter and trace unauthorized use. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at the address below and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it.
7A. IP Assignment — Contractors, Collaborators & Feedback
Any person or entity that contributes to the development, improvement, or operation of the Service — whether as an independent contractor, freelancer, partner, beta tester, or otherwise — hereby assigns to SportsClippers all intellectual property rights (including patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and moral rights, to the fullest extent permitted by law) in any work product, code, invention, design, process, or improvement created in connection with the Service. Where applicable law requires additional formality, contributor agrees to execute any document SportsClippers reasonably requests to perfect or record that assignment. Any suggestion, feature request, idea, or feedback you submit regarding the Service may be used by SportsClippers without restriction, compensation, or attribution, and is hereby assigned to SportsClippers to the extent it constitutes copyrightable or patentable subject matter. This clause survives termination of any agreement, engagement, or account. Where a contractor engagement is governed by a separate written work-for-hire agreement, that agreement controls; absent such a written agreement, this clause applies.
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
9. Creator Share
Eligible users can promote another creator's video using a "Creator Share" link. If a purchase results from your link, you earn a commission (currently 10% of the sale), funded by the platform's and the video owner's share — at no additional cost to the buyer. Commissions are tracked automatically, shown in your dashboard, and paid out under the same terms as other earnings. We may change the commission rate or program rules on a going-forward basis, and we may withhold or reverse commissions on purchases that are refunded, fraudulent, or self-referred.
10. Promoted Placements
Creators may purchase optional promotional placements — such as a featured homepage spot or a higher position in creator search — for a fee and duration shown at purchase. Homepage spots are limited and may be queued first-come, first-served; search placement rotates among paid creators. Promotions begin once payment is captured and run for the stated period; fees are non-refundable once a placement is live. Promotion does not guarantee any particular number of views, clicks, or sales, and we may adjust pricing or capacity, or remove content that violates these Terms.
11. Creator Bookings, Acknowledgement & Accountability
Booking a creator's service package is an offer, not an instant purchase. When a client purchases a booking, the client's payment method is authorized but NOT charged; the creator has twenty-four (24) hours to accept or deny the job. If the creator accepts, the client's payment is captured and the booking is confirmed. If the creator denies the job or the 24-hour window lapses, the authorization is released, the client is never charged, and SportsClippers will attempt to match the client with a top-rated creator who is available near them. Creators are expected to keep their shooting availability current. Denials of paid bookings carry graduated consequences: more than two (2) denials within any seven (7) day period blocks new bookings for seven (7) days; three (3) or more denials within any thirty (30) day period results in a fourteen (14) day booking ban; and, after a served fourteen-day ban, more than two (2) denials of paid bookings within any seven (7) day period results in permanent removal of booking permissions. Separately, creators accepting booked work agree to the Creator Commitment: verified no-shows on booked engagements are subject to a three-strike policy (strike one, formal warning; strike two, final warning; strike three, thirty (30) day account suspension), the creator has seventy-two (72) hours to respond to any no-show report before a platform administrator adjudicates it, and any verified violation after a served suspension results in permanent removal from the Service. When a verified no-show involves a paid engagement, the client's listing reopens to other creators and the payment is flagged for refund review. We may adjust these program rules on a going-forward basis.
11A. Pre-Release First Look
As part of the Creator Upload & Rights Agreement accepted at signup, creators agree that accredited newsroom subscribers may see a metadata-only preview of the creator's uploads during the brief window between upload and marketplace publication. The preview is strictly limited to the content's title, thumbnail image, and the creator's byline credit; the playable video is never shown, streamed, downloadable, or licensable before publication, under any subscription tier. Pre-release previews exist to put the creator's byline in front of media buyers ahead of publication and never delay, alter, or condition publication itself. Acceptance is recorded with a timestamp at signup. SportsClippers may grant a creator a recorded exception from pre-release previews and may adjust the preview window's duration or the program's rules on a going-forward basis.
12. NIL & Clip Claim Revenue Share
Verified athletes may earn "Clip Claim," a name, image, and likeness (NIL) revenue share. When qualifying content that a verified athlete has claimed is sold, that athlete accrues five percent (5%) of the sale. SportsClippers funds that five percent in full — an event operator who activates Clip Claim for their event pays nothing toward it, and SportsClippers likewise funds it in full on SportsClippers-owned content. The creator's or uploader's share is never reduced by Clip Claim in any case. Where more than one verified athlete has claimed the same content, the five percent is a single pool divided evenly among them rather than five percent each. Clip Claim accrues for thirty-six (36) months from the content's publication date and is capped at $1,000 per athlete per calendar month. Eligibility is limited to verified athletes, and to content that is SportsClippers-owned or drawn from a partner club (7on7, non-school) event whose operator has opted that event into Clip Claim, and only where high-school NIL is permitted in the athlete's state. For athletes under 18, participation requires verifiable parent/guardian consent, which is obtained at signup. Amounts accrue to a ledger; settlement and payout occur under our payout terms and applicable law. We may adjust program rules on a going-forward basis and may withhold or reverse accruals tied to refunded, fraudulent, or ineligible sales. Once Clip Claim revenue has been generated on a clip or photo, its removal is subject to review (see Section 6) to protect athlete earnings.
13. Storefront Claims & Program Onboarding
Claiming a school or college storefront is a verified process. Submitting a claim does not itself grant a storefront; each claim is reviewed and is subject to SportsClippers' approval in its sole discretion. Approved programs complete payment and signup, after which a SportsClippers representative schedules a white-glove onboarding session (typically by video conference) covering archive ingestion, account setup, adding users, and training. Instant self-service activation is not currently offered to schools and colleges. We may decline, revoke, or reassign a claim where verification fails or these Terms are violated.
13b. Marketplace Downloads Are Final
Photo and clip downloads purchased in the marketplace are NOT refundable once the purchase completes and the file is downloaded. Because delivery is instantaneous and the file cannot be returned, all download sales are final. Every purchased download remains permanently available to you: your dashboard's "My Downloads" library catalogues every file you own and lets you re-download it at any time, on any device, at no additional charge. If a file will not download or is corrupt, contact support and we will restore access or make it right.
14. Storage Plans, Add-ons, Platform Unlocks & Subscriptions
Storage tiers and add-ons (such as additional storage blocks, priority processing, extended archive retention, and boost credits), per-platform social-publishing unlocks, season passes, and other recurring platform features are recurring subscriptions that automatically renew at the then-current rate until cancelled in your account settings. Any promotional or founding rate applies only for the stated period (for example, a founding rate locked for a set number of months) and then renews at the standard rate disclosed at purchase. Storage is subject to the quota for your plan; uploads that would exceed your entitled storage may be blocked until you upgrade, and content is subject to the retention window associated with your tier. Taxes may apply. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals and does not refund the current period except where required by law.
15. Account Deletion & Recovery
You may close your account at any time. A self-service deletion is processed as a reversible deactivation: your account and public presence are hidden immediately and can be recovered for thirty (30) days, after which your personal data is permanently scrubbed. Deletions initiated by SportsClippers for policy violations may scrub data immediately. Certain records (such as transaction and tax records and revenue-share ledger entries) may be retained as required by law or to complete obligations to others. Content that has generated athlete Clip Claim revenue may require review before removal.
15A. Verified Athlete Profiles, User Content & Fan Shop
SportsClippers maintains public "Verified Athlete" profiles. Some are prepopulated from publicly available recruiting information and remain claimable until the athlete (or, for a minor, a parent/guardian) claims them; any user may follow a profile, which surfaces new content in their feed and never constitutes contact with the athlete. A claimed athlete may post user-generated content ("UGC") — photos and videos — to their profile and may offer certain items for sale in a "Fan Shop." By posting, you represent that you own or control all rights to the content and the persons depicted, grant SportsClippers the license described in Section 3 to host, display, distribute, and (where enabled) sell it, and agree it may appear in the Service's public feeds. IMPORTANT — MINORS: where the athlete is under 18, posting UGC and enabling any paid Fan-Shop sale require verified parent/guardian consent, and all such content is withheld pending that consent and SportsClippers review; paid sale and feed publication of a minor's content are disabled by default and enabled only after consent and at SportsClippers' discretion. By signing up and by posting, you (and, for a minor, the consenting guardian) accept these conditions. SportsClippers may review, gate, withhold, decline to sell, or remove any athlete content, and may withhold or reverse related payouts, to comply with child-safety, consent, NIL, and applicable law. Nothing in this Section creates any right of contact with a minor athlete; see the Child-Safety standards, which permit no direct contact with athletes under 18 except a supervised pregame or postgame interview expressly agreed in a work order.
15B. Program Donations — Charitable Routing, Deductibility & Receipts
Eligible school and club-team accounts may enable "Program Donations" to accept charitable gifts from boosters, alumni, and the public; college programs are not eligible for Program Donations and instead use the separate college plan (see Section 15C for pricing). SportsClippers acts only as payment infrastructure: charitable principal is never owned by SportsClippers and routes directly, through our payment processor's connected-account rails, to the bank account of the program's own 501(c)(3) or its named fiscal sponsor — the program, not SportsClippers, is the recipient charity of record. A gift is represented as tax-deductible only where the receiving program has a verified EIN and 501(c)(3) status on file at the time of the gift; where no verified status is on file, the receipt states plainly that the gift is not deductible. Gifts may only be designated to support a program generally — funds cannot be earmarked for a named individual athlete, which is neither deductible nor permitted; NIL and athlete-specific support is handled exclusively through Clip Claim (Section 12), a separate, non-deductible program. A receipt is issued automatically once a gift is successfully processed and reflects the EIN, legal organization name, and deductible amount on file at that time. SportsClippers is not a tax or legal advisor; each program and each donor is responsible for confirming deductibility and tax treatment with their own advisor.
15C. Program Donations — Registration Fees, Processing & Refunds
SportsClippers currently takes no percentage fee from any gift processed through Program Donations — the full donation amount is routed to the program's connected account. Instead, an enrolled program pays a flat annual registration fee based on account tier: $99/year for a club team, $249/year for a single school program (for example, one sport), or $1,500/year for a full school covering all of its programs. These registration fees are recurring, automatically renew annually at the then-current rate, and otherwise follow the subscription, cancellation, and non-refund terms described in Section 14. A program's donation page does not go live publicly until SportsClippers reviews and approves the program's enrollment request, and until the program completes its own bank and identity verification directly with our payment processor (Section 15D); we may decline, pause, or revoke a program's donation access for failed verification, suspected fraud, or a violation of these Terms. Because a completed charitable gift is a donation and not a purchase of goods or services, gifts are non-refundable except where required by law or to correct a processing error; a donor seeking to reverse a gift for any other reason should contact the receiving program directly.
15D. Program Donations — Banking, Donor Recognition & Employer Matching
Programs connect their own bank account and verify their organization's identity directly with our payment processor's hosted onboarding; SportsClippers never receives or stores the program's bank account or EIN. A donor may choose to give anonymously; anonymous gifts are never displayed on a program's public donor wall. Where a program enables its donor wall, a non-anonymous donor's name and gift amount or recognition tier may be displayed publicly — the donor's email address is never displayed. A donor may separately request employer matching-gift information; SportsClippers returns the receiving program's EIN, legal name, and the donor's own receipt details so the donor can submit them to their employer's own matching-gift portal — SportsClippers does not contact or submit anything to any employer on the donor's behalf.
15E. TrainerMatch — Trainer & Athlete Connections
TrainerMatch surfaces suggested private trainers to athletes and suggested local athletes to trainers, and lets either side send a connection request that the recipient may accept or decline. By sending or accepting a TrainerMatch request you represent that you are 18 or older, or that a parent or guardian is aware of and supervises the resulting communication and any in-person training, consistent with the child-safety standards in Section 6. Nothing in this Section permits a trainer to solicit or initiate contact with an athlete under 18 outside of TrainerMatch, and SportsClippers may suspend TrainerMatch access for any account that misuses it.
15F. Creator Supporter Memberships & Supporters-Only Content
A viewer may support an individual creator through a monthly Supporter Membership (currently $6.99/month). Of each month's payment, the supported creator earns $5.99 and SportsClippers retains a flat $1.00 platform fee. A Supporter Membership is a recurring subscription that renews monthly until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access to that creator's supporters-only content (such as supporters-only Creator Vaults) ends when the membership ends. Supporters-only content is licensed for personal, on-platform viewing only and may not be captured, downloaded, or redistributed. A creator may change content between free and supporters-only; membership fees are not refunded for such changes except as required by law. Creator earnings from Supporter Memberships pay into the creator's standard payout balance.
15G. Media Newsroom Subscriptions, Seats & License Credits
Media organizations may subscribe to an annual Recruiting Platform access tier with the seat counts, vault-history depth, story-clip quotas, alert speeds, and pre-release First Look windows described at purchase. Newsroom seats are read-side only: seated writers and recruiters may operate desks, view the vault, copy story kits, and license film, but may not upload, publish, edit storefronts, or access billing or revenue, which remain with the account owner. Editorial clip licenses may be purchased individually at the posted rate or as prepaid license-credit packs at the posted pack pricing; credits are consumed on use, are not redeemable for cash, and expire only if the subscription lapses beyond any grace period stated at purchase. Licensed clips are for the editorial uses described at checkout; exclusivity windows (including time-limited draft-related windows on designated athletes' catalogs) apply only where expressly stated. Annual tiers renew per Section 14.
15H. Season Passes, Work Orders & Coverage Engagements
Athletic departments and event operators may purchase a season pass (at the price stated at purchase) covering the season's coverage workflow — work orders, production folders, gate credentials, contract archive, and any stated fee waivers. Coverage engagements are formed through work orders: when both parties electronically sign a work order, its terms (deliverables, turnaround, and guaranteed amount) become locked and the executed contract is archived with a reference number; settlement of the guaranteed amount occurs through SportsClippers after delivery per our payout terms. Gate credentials issued for an engagement identify the credentialed person for that event only and may be verified by scan. Season passes renew per Section 14.
15I. LUT Marketplace
Creators may list color-grading LUTs at platform-set pricing; the listing creator earns eighty percent (80%) of each sale and bears payment-processing costs from that share. A LUT purchase licenses the buyer to have the look applied to the buyer's own footage through the Service (and to use the graded output under the buyer's content rights); it does not transfer the LUT file itself for redistribution, resale, or standalone use. Listing a LUT requires uploading the underlying .cube file and truthful before/after imagery; SportsClippers may remove listings that misrepresent results or infringe others' rights.
15J. Cosigns, Signals & AI Score
Cosigns (endorsements of athletes by vetted endorsers) and CreatorCast Signals (creators' scouting observations) are subjective opinions of the people who issue them, weighted by SportsClippers' proprietary scoring into an AI Score. None of these — individually or combined — is a promise, prediction, or guarantee of athletic performance, recruitment, ranking, or NIL value, and none may be used as the basis for wagering. Endorsers and signal issuers must have a genuine basis for their statements; SportsClippers may weight, discount, suspend, or remove endorsements and signals to protect the integrity of the system. An athlete (or a minor athlete's parent/guardian) may dispute a cosign or signal about them through the contact in Section 17.
15K. Accreditation & Background Checks
Creators and trainers may pursue optional accreditation levels. Certain levels require identity verification and a background check performed by a third-party consumer-reporting provider with your authorization, obtained through that provider's own disclosure and consent flow. Credential levels have stated validity periods; a lapsed or revoked credential pauses the visibility and booking eligibility that depended on it until renewed. SportsClippers displays only your credential level — never the contents of a background report. Participation is voluntary, but specific programs (for example, school-facing bookings) may require a current credential.
16. Changes & Termination
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Service and continued use constitutes acceptance. You may close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (licenses already granted, payment obligations, revenue-share ledger entries, liability limits) do.
